Approved by the State Nationalities Affairs Committee and Hubei Provincial Government, Hongbo College of South-central University for Nationalities was founded with the joint efforts of South-central University for Nationalities and Wuhan Hongbo Higher Education Facilities Investment Co. Ltd.

March 3, 2003

The College was renamed as International Engineering and Commerce College of South-central University for Nationalities with the approval of the State Nationalities Affairs Committee and Hubei Education Bureau.

February 2, 2004

The College was renamed as Engineering and Commerce College of South-central University for Nationalities with the approval of State Education Ministry.
