The Department of Art Design places an emphasis on innovative spirits and values practical training. Various teaching methods and practical opportunities are used to stimulate the students’ potentials of creation so as to prepared themselves for their future career. This department has quality teaching resources and creative academic atmosphere as well as a dedicated faculty with strong responsibility and solid professional knowledge and teaching experiences. The department has numerous professional studios and exhibition halls. It keeps a good working relationship with other art colleges, conducts interactive academic communications periodically, and holds academic lectures or forums by international-classed masters and domestic experts to share the latest trends in the ever changing world of art. The Department of Art Design presently has four practical majors. Students professional opportunities include: professional designing, decoration, cartooning, planning & designing, manufacture designing, online media, large and medium enterprises, groups, as well as college, school and adult education. The department operates a series of research rooms such as art history, art basis, designing, and the practical teaching and learning research room. In addition it has art exhibition halls, excellent work displaying rooms, professional movie & video photography and painting studios, computerized professional design room, handwriting & painting working room, multi-media center and a comprehensive material room. Programs: 1. Visual Transmission Design This major aims to foster professional designing students conducting graphic design, advertisement, enterprise image planning, commodity package design, magazine illustration, exhibition design, and book cover design. This major is deeply culture-rooted. Students of this major will acquire strong social adapting ability and certain business planning and organizing skills, and will be prepared for an exciting career expectation. 2. Environmental Art Design This major aims to foster individuals with strong space designing ability. Students of this major are competent for public space design, indoor and outdoor decoration, city appearance, commercial area and display space design. They are to acquire strong ability in hand-painting and language communication. This major has extensive practical value in the fields of construction, real estate, city planning, commerce, and civil housing. 3. Multi-media Art Design This major aims to foster future professionals with strong adaptability who can conduct innovative design with various design software. Students are required to master the knowledge in 2-D and 3-D, graphic, cartoon, video editing and assembling, e-magazine, and web. This major is undergoing development all the time and is closely connected to the development of social science and information technology. This major is especially suitable for the students who are interested in the art of computer imagining. 4. Industrial Manufacture Design This major is for those students who desire a career in industrial products research, exploring and appearance design, space appearance, public facility, civil products and electronic products design. It is closely connected to the knowledge and skills of hand-painting and software design, material research, market investigation and the latest international information, which has great practical and economic value.
