Introduction to the Department:

       The Department of Law takes fostering high-quality candidates as its top educational objective. Students of this major are required to understand the country’s legal system and master the relative basic concepts, systems, and principles. In addition, the department has been conducting teaching reforms and carrying out a teaching model of combining theoretic teaching with practical training so as to help students acquire high-level practical ability by way of successfully entering society. Graduates will be competent for lawmaking, law enforcement, juridical application in governmental institutions, policy stations, inspection departments, courts, legal service, teaching, and research in legal institutions, companies, enterprise, institution, and social groups.

Programs:

Based on the social needs of law students, this major has designed 5 undergraduate practical-style teaching curriculum. If the students have finished learning the main courses in grade one and grade two, they may select one practical-styled program as their major and complete the relative courses. Students may also select courses of other topics according to their own interests. The practical teaching takes the following forms: moot courts, actual trial observation, social investigation, case study and analyzing, case debating, and special topic lecturing. The setting of practical-styled courses is aimed at adapting to the social needs and future situation of law professionals so as to ensure the graduates’ quality and job prospects.

       1. The direction of civil law aims to prepare students in conducting civil lawsuits, and the special courses of this direction includes civil law, property law, contracts, intellectual property, and marriage law.

2. The direction of company and enterprise law are designed according to the transition of social needs from procedure to management, aiming to foster high-quality versatile individuals who can provide legal service for companies and enterprises. The special courses include company, cooperative enterprise, contracts, real estate, and labor law.

       3. The direction of financial law aims to train wanting a career in the financial institutions of security, banks, insurance, and the special courses include financial, security, insurance, banking, and trust law.

       4. The direction of foreign affairs law focuses on conducting foreign trade affairs, maritime commercial activities, and international investments. The special course of this discipline includes international economic and international investment law, international finance law, as well as WTO rules and regulations.

       5. The aim of lawyer and notary studies is to foster legal exports conducting lawsuits in an attorney office, arbitrary and notary institutions. The special courses include evidence law, criminal procedure, civil procedure, administrative procedure, arbitration, and attorney law.
