This department has extensive social links and has signed a series of long-term practice or employment contracts with numerous established enterprises and institutions inside and outside the province, as well as established a bulk of influential practice bases. It also has available rich resources for campus practice and education which includes the stimulated accounting laboratory, the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) laboratory, the enterprise operation laboratory, a computerized accounting laboratory as well as the students’ career planning center, the outward bound base, a multi-functional tourist laboratory and the scenery design and sand-tray planning laboratory.

Accounting (Undergraduate)

Students of this major will study the basic theories of accounting, management, law and the latest accounting systems. They are also trained with practical skills and techniques. The key courses includes: basic accounting, advanced financial accounting, censoring and checking, and computerized accounting. Additional courses include: management science, marketing, and human resource management. Students are expected to plan their future at the beginning of their college experience and foster their career interests. During the process of study, they’ll receive practical training on accounting skills and techniques, as well as enterprise financial management models. This major has its own learning structure and is developing quickly and students are facing a great social need and good career future. The graduates of this major usually find employment in accounting and financial management.

Accounting (Specialist)

Students of this major will study the basic theories of accounting, management, law and the latest accounting systems, as well as the practical skills. They are expected to plan their career at the beginning of their college life and foster their career interests. During the process of study, the emphasis is placed on the training of manual accounting techniques. Graduates usually find a career in production and services sectors or governmental institutions.

Tourist Management (Undergraduate)

The main courses of this major includes: Introduction to Tourism, Science of Tourist Resources, Travel Agency Management, Tourist Guide Practice, Tourist English, Tourist Public Relations, Meeting & Exhibition Planning, as well as the other courses like Hotel Management and English, Reception and Room Service Management. This department places emphasis on fostering students’ practical ability and provides campus laboratories and social practice bases accordingly for them. The campus laboratories are available for tour guide and scenic spots resources, hotel reception, dining, and room service. The social practice bases include some well-known hotels in and around Hubei Province such as the Ramada Plaza, Tourist Group of Zhejiang, and an open-air training base. The annual pass rate of the national tourist guide certification test of this department is 30% higher than the national average and with a high employment rate. The graduates of this major usually find their jobs or posts in enterprises or institutions at scenic spots, travel agencies, and hotels.

Tourism Management (Specialist)

The main courses of this major include tourist and hotel English, tour guide practice, tourism marketing, public relations, room service and management, as well as reception, room service and dining management and on the job training. The teaching methods include in-class lecturing, stimulated practice, special item practice, comprehensive training, rotated practice, practice & investigation reporting and graduation design. The positions the graduates take usually include senior service personnel and junior managers of diverse sections in respected hotels, tour guides, travel agencies, planning & investigating personnel and section managers, as well as senior service personnel of dining enterprises, career agent, or marketing personnel of tourist enterprises or institutions.

Human Resource Management (Undergraduate)

This major aims to prepare students with basic knowledge of management, economics, law, psychology and skills of human resource management, interpersonal communication, organizing and coordinating. They are required to be familiar with the guidelines, policies and regulations of human resource management and be competent for careers in human resource management, research, application in enterprises or institutions as well as advice agencies. According to the characteristics of this major, the department has introduced the Opal stimulated teaching software of human resource management and set up the ERP laboratory as well as the Beisen talent evaluation software. The main course of this major include western economics, statistics, labor economics, human resource management, financial management, managing information system, organizational behavior, labor relations and law, recruiting and employing, salary and payment management, personnel evaluating theories and methods, performance assessment, employee training and research.

Industrial and Commercial Management (Undergraduate)

This major aims to foster special skills for those who are competent for positions of strategic decision-making, comprehensive management, professional management, enterprise producing and operating management in various industrial and commercial enterprises and administrative institutions. They are to master the English language, mathematics and computer techniques, be familiar with the theories of strategic decision-making, human resource management, accounting, financial management, marketing, production management, logistics, security investment, electronic business, as well as the general rules and characteristics of the running and operation of enterprises and administrative units, and to acquire innovative skills and the ability to analyze problems and resolve them independently. Graduates usually find a career in enterprises, institutions, government, cross-national corporations, banks, the insurance industry, security and advice agencies.

Industrial and Commercial Enterprises Management (Specialist)

       This major aims to foster middle and senior students who are competent for involving strategic decision-making, comprehensive management, professional management in various industrial and commercial enterprises. Students are to acquire the ability in English language, mathematics and computers and to be familiar with the theories of strategic decision-making, human resource management, accounting, financial management, marketing, production and logistics management, security investment, electronic business, as well as the general rules and characteristics of the running and operation of enterprises and administrative units. They are expected to acquire the ability of analyzing problems and resolve them independently.
